As you all may know, we record the show on Wednesday night and, when listening, you’ll notice that we have no idea that the 2007 Phillies season has come to a grinding halt.
Chase Utley’s injury is devastating news. Does it turn the Phillies into sellers at the trade deadline rather than buyers? I am not sure that the Phils were buyers this year anyway and am not totally sold that they are going to make any moves at all. Back to the show - this week we discuss the Eagles defensive roster changes, how McNabb is an ‘X’ factor this year - rather than the quarterback this team needs in order to take it to the playoffs.
Also, we have set up two RSS feeds for Philly SportsCast. The first, the podcast feed, is the one we’ve always had - if you’re solely interested in the podcast, use this one. The second is an “all posts” feed. As we put more and more articles and movies on the site, we wanted to set up a feed that captures this for anyone who may be interested. Both of these feeds can be found in our sidebar.

Philly SportsCast #96 – July 18, 2007
We are back and what a trip it has been. We took a two-week break to get ourselves back in shape after what was a momentous occasion - the First Annual Philly SportsCast meet and greet. Speaking for the crew, I want to thank everyone who came out to have a blast with us. Too bad the Phillies didn’t come through.
Yeah, the Phillies. It was at the June 30th game that I came to the realization that I am no longer going to follow this team blindly. I simply can’t do it. I’ve often made a fool out of myself in public - but this time I was doing it because of how bad the Phillies were playing that day - and because of the God-awful way Mets fans dress themselves. No more. The Phillies are bad because the Phillies are bad and no sane individual (which I like to think that I am) should let it alter his/her state of mind in any way.

While the Phillies can’t take advantage of a Mets free-fall, and they certainly can’t beat the Mets in their own backyard, we at PhillySportsCast are taking two weeks off.
We want to thank everyone who came out to our first annual meet and greet - what a blast. Even though the Phillies are a tough team to root for when they play like they did on June 30th, we managed to have a really good time. Next year let’s hope all the Mets fans in attendance go home with the sour taste that these Phillies left in our mouths - nothing a cool Budweiser in the parking lot couldn’t take care of however.
