No Surprise: Roseman Named Eagles GM
The Eagles have promoted Howie Roseman to general manager.
Roseman, 34, its vice president of player personnel the last two seasons, is replacing the departed Tom Heckert, who left earlier this month to become the GM in Cleveland.

Report: Phillies Sign Pitcher Jose Contreras
The Phillies have reportedly reached agreement on a one-year deal with veteran right-hander Jose Contreras.
Reached via phone by MLB.com, Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. would not confirm the report.
