After taking that quick lead on a nice touchdown run by DeSean Jackson, the Eagles looked awful during the next quarter or so and allowed 17 unanswered points. The Birds certainly weren’t helped by the referees or even their own coaching, as commenters here were calling for Reid’s job before the game was even over. the700level.com
The Eagles sit at 5-4. Despite occupying the basement of the NFC East, the Eagles find themselves only a game back of the conference’s final playoff spot. Have the Eagles dug themselves a hole with their 0-3 division and 4-4 conference record? No doubt, but it is not an insurmountable deficit. bleedeaglesgreen.com
Last night the Giants went into Philly and dominated the game. Yes, I realize the final score, 36-31, didn’t indicate that thanks in large part to two costly turnovers, but they beat them up. Consider; the Giants rushed the ball 45 times for 229 yards! The Giants held the ball for almost 40 minutes. The Giants held the great running back Brian Westbrook to only 59 total yards! They were by far the better team. myteamrivals.typepad.com
Maybe when the NFL does it’s schedule for next season Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie should tell the league not to schedule for any prime time games. One more thing, constantly losing in “Prime Time” is a sign of a team that is going down hill. davesmallsports.blogspot.com
Bottom line is that the defense got rolled. Could the offense have not had a few key 3 and outs? Absolutely. That didn’t help at all… but the fact is that you can’t blame the poor job against the run tonight on the defense being tired. They got run over early in the game when they were fresh… bleedinggreennation.com
