Eagles Set To Acquire Pro Bowl Left Tackle

According to multiple reports, the Philadelphia Eagles have worked out an agreement to acquire Buffalo Bills left tackle Jason Peters.

The Bills will receive a first-round pick (the 28th selection in the round), a fourth-rounder in next weekend’s draft and an undisclosed pick in 2010 from the Eagles.

Last year the two-time Pro-Bowl tackle held out of training camp and wants to be one of the highest-paid players at his position which could coast the Eagles as much as $11 million a year.

Peters was an undrafted tight end out of Arkansas. The Bills turned him into one of the best left tackles in the NFL. He is signed through 2010 and can then become a free agent but would most likely have to agree to an extension before he becomes an Eagle.

Peters passed his physical, and trade is contingent on extension being completed.

Arkansas??? 6 year vet??? Wait a second…. don’t the Eagles already have an OL from ARK who is a 6 year vet??? Jesus. Shawn Andrews must be a basket case. They bring in his brother & college teammate for him?!?!

Getting Peters was a great move. As much as Andy Reid frustrates me, I think he nailed this one. Assuming he sticks with his M.O. of drafting RBs in the 3rd round, BRING ON PETTIGREW!!!

Peters was Andrews’ teammate in college. But Peters played TE, not T. I wonder if the Eagles will run some plays where Peters reports as an eligible receiver.

Good move to sure up the line that was getting old. I have no clue what the Eagles are going to do and we are a week away. They are so tight lipped this year and I hear they are moving up to get a difference maker what ever the hell that means. Boldin is out. Oucho Chino could be had for a bargin maybe. Who could they move up to get, maybe Maclin the WR from Mizzouri?
