Here We Go Again

It’s the Phillies vs. the Brewers and there is nothing I’d rather be doing than settling in for tonight’s podcast (#150 a day early because of baseball) and getting ready for the playoffs.

Everyone knows that playoff baseball is baseball x1,000 – and while the Phillies have been playing as if their lives depended on it these past two weeks, this time their asses really are on the line. This is October baseball, baby – it’s time to shine.

Yeah – last year was piss poor. However, this year the opportunity is there. I defy anyone to say there is a standout favorite in this National League. I agree the Cubs are stocked with talent and are poised to make a run, but the Phillies are as capable as any.

So why not?

The vibe in this town is so much different from last year. While the Phillies and the fans were just stone excited to get into the tournament last year, there is not a soul that doesn’t feel that the team’s work is just beginning – they haven’t won anything.

Dave and I will be talking Phillies tonight and will be having fun as always, but the pressure is on. Tomorrow is a must-win for this team as C.C. Sabathia is set to go in game two.

You know it and I know it.

Time to shine.

P.S. Hey Kranepool – looks like I was right. Jerkoff.
