Philly SportsCast #208 – December 10, 2009

With the Flyers and the Sixers at the bottom of the barrel right now – at least we’ve got a good Eagles team headed to the Meadowlands to kick the junk out of a Giants team that’s still off the track – Dallas at home is one thing, pricks.

BIG Props to Phillips Rivers today. 16-0 in December!?!That is pretty impressive.

I knew you’d eventually see things my way..

17-10 Eagles in the 2nd…Celek was just raped in the end zone…no call…

    D-Jax…

That was the worst officiated half against the Eagles I think I ever saw, capped off by a fumble recovery with at least :02 on the clock, and easily in FG range. Garbage.

Eli TORCHED the Eagles … no support from the defense. Sheridan is the WORST DC in the NFL.

I think I aged another 10 years watching the 2nd half. That win should lock up a playoff spot. But the Eagles’ D is horrible right now. Asante Samuel might be the most overrated player in the NFL. McDermott called a horrendous game…where were the blitzes??? They need a complete re-build in the off-season.

But Jackson is unbelievable. He didn’t go to college….He came from an XBOX.

“But Jackson is unbelievable. He didn’t go to college….He came from an XBOX.”

Great talent … Terrible sportsmanship … The guy is a punk. He and Rosenhaus should do a fine job making a HUGE stink real soon.

Hakeem Nicks is going to be an All Pro WR.

    Not exactly…nice try though…LOL

“Eli TORCHED the Eagles … no support from the defense.”

In fairness, the Giants’ OL was flagged for holding ONCE, and they were mugging the Eagles’ D-line all night. I saw 3 holding fouls on 1 play. The refs simply stood and watched. And it went both ways, so both QB’s ended up having a good night. But the lack of calls in the 1st half was especially glaring.

“Hakeem Nicks is going to be an All Pro WR.”

That’s a bold statement, considering his hands were horseshit last night on more than one play. He made a nice play in front of Samuel on the sideline…but his TD was simply poor tackling. By my estimation, the Eagles gave up at least 200 yards just on missed/bad tackles. They were matadors last night.

    “That’s a bold statement”

38-685-6TD. Avg 18 yds per reception. Excellent numbers from the rookie. That TD last night was his 4th 50+ TD reception of the season…..and it was his 1st start. The last thing I am worried about is his GIANT hands. The kid is going to be a monster I’m telling you.

  13. PairFace on December 14, 2009 at 1:09 pm

Ehhh….I’ll believe it when I see it from Nicks. His TD last night was the result of a BRUTAL tackling effort by Samuel.

DeSean Jackson is the best WR in the NFC East right now. Regardless what you think of his antics (which I bet you would gladly put up with if he was a NYG), there are plays where he just cannot be covered. Perhaps he goes the way of Devin Hester or Dante Hall in a few years. But he’s pretty legit as a WR and a returner, and he’s got a better pedigree as a WR than either Hester or Hall.
