Philly SportsCast #197 – September 16, 2009

Kolb? Vick? Garcia?? Hamels? Lee? Pedro?? These are the questions we have tonight. Which one of these cats are going to step up and prove to this town that they have what it takes to take their respective teams to the promised land?

Yeah, Cole we know. You’ve already proven that it’s you – and I try to argue that one – but Evan and Dave have been kind enough to remind me that last year is as dead as…dead.

Enjoy.

How did Seymour do? 6 Tackles 2 Sacks, HUGE game.

Oakland would have won that game if they did not have Russell starting at QB. He is the WORST staring QB in the NFL. I can see why Garcia demanded to be released from the Raiders. Letting Russell start over Garcia is nothing less than a backhand to the face.

I do NOT bet on football, but this pick’em thing you guys have going looks fun. So I will give it a shot.

    DALLAS (-3) over NYG
    CHICAGO (+3) over Pitt
    Baltimore (+3) over S.D.

So, I was listening to Mike & Mike on my way into work and they picked the same results….YUK!

Kolb to start for the Eagles. I have a feeling the kid is going to be alright. He was able to get reps in with the 1st team all week, and he knows the play book.

I said the same thing last week, and was unanimously roasted for it, including all 3 guys on the podcast. But aside from the 2 late picks in garbage time, Kolb had a pretty good game. The defense and ST kept this team in a hole all day.

Kolb had his shaky moments – 2 of his picks were a result of locking on to his receiver. But he was certainly not the problem today.

If McNabb is not ready to go, Kolb has earned another start. I’m more concerned with Sean McDermott at the moment.

This week is a little different than last week. TFrey had his LOTW hit for two points. I had Atl for 1 point. DMan had the GMen for 1 point. EMoney came in with 2 points from Indy and Denver. But the big winner is StrongSide with 3 points, one from Balt and two from his LOTW Chi.
    Standings after 2 weeks:
    TFrey 6
    Dave 4
    DMan 3
    EMoney 3
    SSB 3

SSB if you keep up these winning ways you’re going to have too meet us at the Irish Rover to have some drinks at the end of the year.

Anyone can post your picks next week and see how you do compare to our picks.

Sounds like a plan to me. You don’t have to twist my arm too hard to get me in a bar =)
