I'm glad you're done talking about Weddle. Because next time you bring his name up, I'm going into the Reggie White archives (I'm kidding...maybe).

As for Westbrook, I thought he looked OK for a guy that hadn't touched the ball in about 8 months. But if he's slowing down, that's what happens to RBs when they hit 30. That's why San Diego has Sproles, and why the Eagles drafted McCoy. I'm hoping that McCoy plays a bigger role as the season goes on, so that Westbrook doesn't have so much wear-and-tear on him by the end of the season.

I'll need to see Justice face a few more top guys before I'm convinced. But he's off to a nice start salvaging his career.

Honestly, I am sick of brining up the Weddle argument on here. It is just way too stale...LOL

On another note. Justice's reps in pre-season may have saved his career. He played so well that the Eagles are reportedly not interested in Runyan. That is saying a lot. I think we all expected a brutal challenge from peppers and with a little help Justice stood his ground.

If I am an Eagles fan I would be worried about Westbrook. He didn't appear to have that burst out of the backfield that he once pulverized LBs with coming around the edge. It may just be rust, but I noticed L. Tomlinson had that same laggy look. It's tough watching them get old.

"You could go back through every draft, and find players better than other players who happened to be drafted later. "

Ummm ... I posted on the forum right after the 2007 draft that I thought the Eagles should have taken Weddle and was surprised they didn't. So, that my friend is not cherry-picking.

It doesn't matter what Oher is doing. The Eagles were not picking OL in the 1st round. OL was not their need at the time. So your assessment of Oher really means nothing to me, or any other Eagles fan.

I didn't say Maclin was NFL-ready. That's another CHARMIN fact that you pulled out of your ass. Everyone knew Maclin was coming out of a spread offense at Missouri, and it was going to take some time to get him acclimated to the WCO. Maclin happened to drop to 19, and the Eagles moved up 2 spots to grab him. And word was that the GIANTS were trying to jump the Eagles and get to 20 so they could take him.

And yeah, you're really sticking your neck out there, talking about draft picks after week 1 of the season. Nobody gives a crap about Weddle around here, either. You could go back through every draft, and find players better than other players who happened to be drafted later. Just about every team in the NFL had 6 shots at Tom Brady, so your cherry-picking is pretty much pointless.

The Ravens have been raving about Oher. I think one beat writer even said he expects Oher to eventually take over at LT. He also said that Oher's footwork is simply amazing.

Maclin may never contribute to the Eagles. I told you he was not NFL ready and you balked at me. Oher will be a better pro than Maclin, and it will not even be close.

Just like Weddle SMOKES Kolb.

I am sticking my neck out there, just like you claim I never do.

Oher has played 1 game in the NFL, and nobody thought the Andrews thing would end up the way it did. No way the Eagles were going OT in round 1 when they traded for Peters. When Maclin fell to 19, it was a no-brainer. I have no problem with that draft decision.

If you're going to make draft calls after one game, then:

Kenny Britt: 4 receptions, 85 yards
Hakeem Nicks: 2 receptions, 18 yards

Looks like the Giants should have went with Britt, right???

Hmmmm... maybe they should have taken T Michael Oher like I suggested before the draft. Oher is dominating at RT.

The Andrews thing just gets stranger and stranger.

With the Eagles statement saying that his back has been "cleared medically" they are basically saying he does not have a back injury which would keep him out a significant amount of time (and certainly not on IR).

If Andrews still has depression, then he has a serious illness which can't just be 'fixed' by a quick visit to the doctor or taking a few pills. From what I know, depression can be a long term and debilitating condition. There is a big difference between someone with serious depression and a healthy person who simply 'cant be bothered playing'. I suspect we have the former but the Eagles are trying to paint it as the latter.

The way the statement is worded definately says 'we've lost patience with this guy and there is nothing wrong with his back'. Hard to tell who is in the wrong here in my opinion, whether its Andrews or the organisation.
