McNabb Looking To Get Started

USA Today profiles Donavan McNabb…

A variety of injuries limited McNabb, 31, to nine games, 10 games and then 14 games in the ensuing years. Now he’s in the final year of his contract, and in 2007 the Eagles drafted former University of Houston standout Kevin Kolb in the second round.

Yet the five-time Pro Bowl selection appears pumped entering Sunday’s season-opener at home against the St. Louis Rams.

“Oh yeah,” McNabb says. “I feel like I’m ready to go.”

For his part, so does Kolb, who received most of the work during the preseason.

He also knows that barring an injury to McNabb, such in-game appearances will be rare from this point on.

“The biggest thing now is to not regress,” Kolb says. “I’ve gotten progressively better (but) I just can’t regress when I’m sitting on the sidelines.

“I have to make sure I get plenty of reps in practice and keep (sharp).”

Just in case … you know.

Yeah – we all know.
