Philly SportsCast #186 โ€“ July 1, 2009

While it’s hard to watch the Phillies’ lame-ass efforts against the Braves, it is encouraging to see what the Flyers are doing on the first day of free agency.

However, nothing is for certain. We’re looking for a monster second half from the Phils – provided they can get their shit together and we are looking forward to a wild season from the Flyers.

Yeah, and there’s a little football to play in between.

Enjoy the podcast.

    HAHA! METS SUCK!!! PHILS ROCK!!!

I’m not going to say ‘Phillies Rock’, but I’ll certainly agree about the Mets Suck part. I haven’t watched a whole ballgame in a month; It’s been years since I’ve done that. These current cast of Mets are rotten to the core. Not one shread of heart among them, self-wallowing pansies, pure fucking rubbish.

Minya really needs to be fired this coming off-season. Someone else needs to come in and put a serious overhaul in place. Trade them all! Wright, Santana, Reyes, K Rod, fuck ‘em. Useless twats all around. So sick of this under achieving bullshit!

Wright 0-22 against the Phils and Yankees in the last 10 days. He is the Tin Man of MLB. He could hit .400 the rest of the season and win the batting title. But put just a little bit of pressure on him, and he chokes out like a dog.

Omar Minaya is presiding over an EPIC FAIL. How long are the Wilpons going to hang on to him??? They’ve already changed managers, so it’s not on Manuel. Minaya has built a squad with horrible chemistry, with a roster full of players that can’t or won’t pick up the slack for their injured teammates.

Despite Santana’s troubles, they still have had some good pitching. But not getting a bat (or 5) in the lineup, while a player like Mark De Rosa goes to the Cardinals for trash, is a crime. Especially considering the new ballpark, and the prices they charge for tickets.

Don’t get me wrong, I hope it continues, and Minaya is GM of the Mets for life. But somebody up there has to wake up one of these days.

De Rosa wasn’t going to help the Mets. Maybe a guy like Dunn who can add the power threat, but not for what the Nats were asking for. But the Mets could add Puljols and Halliday, and I don’t think it would matter much.
