Phillies Win

What the hell just happened? Phillies come from behind to beat the Mets 8-6.

We at Philly SportsCast are taking up a collection for Billy Wagner’s doctor – God bless the dude who sat him – interested in chipping in?

UPDATE:

Looks like Wagner sat himself…

On Tuesday, the Mets’ medical people advised the bruised Billy Wagner that he needed one more day of rest. Wagner subsequently met with Manuel to affirm the doctors’ decision. Manuel said that had Wagner made the case that he wanted to pitch, that he was ready if needed, he would have called on him. Wagner made no such case. He opted to sit this one out. Later, he told reporters that after watching the bullpen get slapped around, he had second thoughts.

Too late.

I wonder, Billy, was that the Mets’ way, the Yankees’ way or your way?

What would Mariano Rivera have done?

Wagner said that had this been September, it might have been a different story.

Guess what: There might not be a September story for the Mets.

I seriously think Billy Wagner’s afraid of the Phillies. Like I said on a previous post, he struck out the side in his last outing with fastballs that topped out at 96. Sore shoulder my ass. Didn’t he have a “dead arm” last year when a key Phillies series came up? The only thing that alpaca fucking rube is good for is running his mouth. Pair Face told me 3 years ago, I wished I listened.

Lidge looked a little off, no?

that was an amazing game, u think they missed wagner?? and this was what i was sayin, the phils have the edge because of the ‘pen, and now johan feels a little more hopeless and powerless…

crazy game, didnt get to see it live due to work..but got home when the bases were loaded in the 9th talk about perfect timing. lidge definitely scared me, hopefully he was rusty, and it wasnt an affect from the all star game

That is good timing. I agree with Lidge, but he had to be a little freaked with what the Phillies did to the Mets.

He locked it down – and that is really what matters.

its good to see that even when lidge is off, and in a huge game like this, against a lineup like this, he can still get the save
