Photo: Inquirer Has Phillies Winning World Series
Filed under: Photo of the Day
Jimmy Rollins’ prediction on the Jay Leno Show that the Phillies would win the World Series in Five Games has nothing on this as far as motivational material for the Yankees.

From the Inquirer:
A Message To Our Readers,
A Macy’s advertisement in today’s Inquirer incorrectly offered Phillies 2009 World Championship merchandise. The Inquirer deeply regrets this error. Macy’s is a great corporate citizen, supporter of this region and our sports teams. We apologize for this error and any inconvenience this caused.
Sincerely,

No Macy’s had the Phillies winning the World Series. All the Inquirer did was publish an ad(which was submitted days ago).
Comment on November 2, 2009 03:22 pmdude, the Inquirer has TOTAL control of what they publish. Somewhere there is a shirt with the Yankees winning the world series that none of the NY papers have published, although it’s surely plated and ready to roll.
The inquirer was, in no way, supposed to run this ad – and there is no doubt that Macy’s and MLB are pissed as all hell.
