Sixers forward Elton Brand dislocated his right shoulder in the third quarter of tonight’s game against Milwaukee.
While it really doesn’t matter that Brand is hurt - the team is going absolutely nowhere - but he was the reason to go to see this god-awful team play, and now that’s gone.
However, the Sixers won the game, 93-88, over the Bucks. They overcame a double-digit deficit with a huge fourth quarter without Brand who signed a five-year, $80 million contract in July after seven seasons with the Chicago Bulls and two with the Los Angeles Clippers..
The Sixers (11-14) lost Brand with 7:23 left in the third quarter. He had four points and six rebounds.

Sports Illustrated’s Ian Thompson on the deal…
One big move — and only one — made exquisite sense for the 76ers: Use their cap space to land Brand, the perfect fit to fill their hole at power forward, give them veteran leadership and enhance their up-tempo style. A lineup built around Brand, Andre Iguodala and point guard Andre Miller could challenge for home-court advantage in the first round next season — while enabling young talents like Thaddeus Young, Lou Williams and rookie Marreese Speights to improve in a hospitable environment.
