TMI: Eagles Vs. Dallas Downloadable Game Notes
Filed under: Must Read
Below is the stats and facts package that the NFL put together for today’s monster mash between the Eagles and the Cowboys. I do believe there is enough information here that would make even Pairface blush.
There’s 168 pages here with player stats, game recaps and matchup history. Please feel free to download.

The defense was a joke today, and McNabb was worse. Instead of earning a bye, they earned another trip to Dallas. The Cowboys are clearly the better team right now.
McNabb is playing for his Eagles career next week. Lose and it’s over.
I was also one of the few that thought the Eagles wouldn’t miss Dawkins much on the field. I was clearly wrong. The defense needs a complete re-build in the off-season.
Comment on January 3, 2010 08:00 pmTough game pairface, but at least you have a team to watch next week.
Comment on January 3, 2010 08:07 pmIn any part of the 168 page manual above does it say watching the game will be 3 hours of your life that you will never get back?
I really don’t know what to say about that performance but its the same stuff we see again and again and again and again. Wasting timeouts for no reason, wild throwing from McNabb, bad communication, pathetic tackling ability, really stupid penalties, terrible decisions (53 yard fg when akers hasn’t made that distance this year anyone? keep your starters in the game to the end when you have a trip straight back to dallas in a few days?).
It’s like being forced to go to the cinema four times a year and watch the same terrible movie where you know what happens.
I wasn’t very confident about this game beforehand as I feel like the winning streak has been against pretty average teams (or even flat out poor teams) and we’ve been relying on huge plays to save us. Didn’t see a performance as bad as that coming though.
btw Westbrook is done.
Comment on January 3, 2010 08:29 pmI had a bad feeling about the game too. I think the Eagles and Cowboys have the same caliber offense. But the Cowboys are much better on defense right now, and that’s the difference.
It’s tough to tell how McDermott is doing as DC, because he doesn’t have the players. No pass rush opposite Cole. No plays from either safety position. And the LBs are completely lost right now. They were never able to make up for the loss of Bradley, other than signing Trotter off the street. Mays and Gaither were failures at MLB.
If the defense puts the Eagles in another 14-0 hole early, time to pack the bags. The Eagles are not going to win games coming from behind, because the defense isn’t capable of holding fup or very long. They need to grab a lead and hang on for deal life.
Comment on January 3, 2010 09:25 pmEagles have not beaten a team this season that is headed to the playoffs.
Comment on January 4, 2010 05:58 amDawkins was a huge lose (I mentioned that on the board before the pre-season started). When the Boys lost Woodson, the whole defense fell apart. It took them years to find a suitable replacement.
What a great game!!! Complete domination by the Boys. They are the hot team going into the playoff. The defense never had two shutouts in a row. Wade is a very good defensive coordinator. He deserves the credit.
I am nervous about Saturday’s game though. The Eagles will blitz more and try to get pressure on Romo. I do not expect the same Eagles team as yesterday. The dropped passes were horrible (I thought Roy Williams was in a few Eagles jerseys for awhile).
Well, I have to run. I am going to purchase a Dallas Cowboys NFC East Champion hat today. Go Boys!!!
Comment on January 4, 2010 10:17 amDallas is hot, and because the Eagles’ D just can’t stop anyone, I expect the Cowboys to win a close game next week. But whoever wins is going to have a tough road to the SB. If Dallas wins, then it’s on to Minnesota, and then likely a revenge game with New Orleans. If the Eagles somehow pull out a win, they will go to New Orleans and give up about 50 points.
BTW, why would you buy that hat??? I thought anything short of the Super Bowl is a failure.
Comment on January 4, 2010 10:26 amDid you see the replay of Maclin on the bomb? Jenkins was covering him and Hamlin was coming over to lay him out. Maclin did not even look for the ball. He was watching Hamlin the whole time. I think Troy said “you can not catch the ball if you are not looking for it”.
I am buying the hat to wear to the game this weekend.
Comment on January 4, 2010 01:43 pmGotta love Baldinger calling out McNabb on the Fanatic this morning saying he could learn a thing or two from Eli.
Comment on January 4, 2010 02:05 pmDave,
Can you text me again before Sat. game? I like the results.
Comment on January 4, 2010 03:26 pmMikey Miss KILLING McNabb for throwing his young teammates under the bus.
Comment on January 4, 2010 04:18 pmYea I should of mentioned before that that was another thing that pissed me off, McNabb saying it was our young guys that didn’t do well. It wasn’t one of our rookies that threw about 5 horrible passes to wide open receivers during the course of the game. To be honest I’ve had enough of this guy now (I’ve always kind of sat on the fence with him – never loved him, never hated him) and am looking forward to a change at the QB position.
Comment on January 4, 2010 07:45 pmI think the Eagles have to get to the NFCC game in order for McNabb to continue as the QB. There is NO WAY they are beating the Cowboys and Saints on the road. I think we are on the verge of the Kolb era, for better or for worse.
And I see a trading partner for the Eagles – the San Francisco 49ers.
Comment on January 4, 2010 11:42 pmWhen was the last time the Eagles got knocked out of the playoffs in the first round? They have the scoring power for the big plays and the defense can cause a lot of turnovers. The Eagles could easily win this game in Dallas.
Comment on January 5, 2010 09:33 amI think the Eagles can win the game, too. But I’m looking at the big picture in the playoffs, and the Eagles have an extremely difficult road in front of them. Dallas, New Orleans and Minnesota are 3 very good passing attacks. Dallas is probably the toughest matchup, because they have the best TE, and the Eagles haven’t covered a TE all year. If they get by the Cowboys, the Saints will be in their dome, have plenty of rest, and all their weapons ready to go. If they somehow pull off that miracle, their reward is likely another road game against a dome team ready to score big points.
It wouldn’t shock me if the Eagles scraped by the Cowboys. But they really needed to win last week to grab the 2 seed, so they could have made one of Minnesota/Arizona/Dallas play on the road in the cold.
Comment on January 5, 2010 10:43 amDallas is going to the Bowl
Comment on January 5, 2010 10:49 am“Dallas will win the NFC East with an 11-5 record” SSB Sept. 10th
Let’s see if I can go 2 for 2.
Comment on January 5, 2010 12:22 pm2 for 2???
“NFC EAST Predictions
1- Dallas Cowboys : 11-5
2- NY GIANTS : 10-6
3- Was Redskins : 8-8
4- Phila Eagles : 7-9″
Looks to me like you went 1 for 4. If you’re going to toot your own horn, prediction-wise, at least own up to your misses.
Comment on January 5, 2010 12:57 pmAs a whole yes 1-4, but picked the division winner and record. What did you pick???? Oh, you didn’t =)
Comment on January 5, 2010 01:22 pmYou’re right, I didn’t make a pick. Then again, I’m not bragging about how good my pick was, either. You have accused me of cherry-picking stats in the past. What do you call this???
You got the division winner, but you were 4 wins off on both the Eagles and Redskins. That’s missing by quite a bit. At least try to be fair.
BTW, the final stats for 2009 are in, and Eli finished as the 11th-highest rated passer in the NFL. Is he ever going to have a top-10 season??? Aaron Rodgers rode the bench for 3 years, and he has 2 top-10 finishes. Rivers has one less year as a starter than Eli, and has THREE top-10 seasons. Roethlisberger has THREE. Eli has some catching up to do.
Comment on January 5, 2010 02:10 pmSuper Bowl MVP on pace for the Hall of Fame. I’m fine with that =)
Comment on January 5, 2010 03:54 pmWell, at least you retain your sense of humor. Right now, the only HoF ceremony Eli will be attending is his brother’s.
Comment on January 5, 2010 04:24 pmPairface,
What are your thoughts on Anthony Spencer now, after he started the whole season?
Comment on January 5, 2010 08:54 pmI think Spencer is the biggest beneficiary of DeMarcus Ware on the Cowboys’ defense. He has had a good 2nd half. But so has the rest of the defense.
Tough to say. Spencer might be a player. You might have to see him play without Ware for a few games to find out for sure.
Comment on January 6, 2010 10:26 am“When the regular season ended, Spencer led the team in tackles for loss (nine) and was third on the team in sacks (six) and second in quarterback pressures (36).”
Comment on January 6, 2010 12:58 pm“Tough to say. Spencer might be a player. You might have to see him play without Ware for a few games to find out for sure.”
Seriously? Production is production. Again with the what ifs..will it ever end. You were WRONG the kid can play…man up.
Comment on January 6, 2010 01:15 pmHarvin wins rookie of the year. I picked Moreno, but in the end Harvin and Oher came out on top. I was wrong. See how easy it is…LOL
Comment on January 6, 2010 01:16 pmMy question about Spencer is valid. Ware is coming at the QB from the other side, and Ratliff is coming up the middle. So Spencer is getting his opportunities. He has cashed in more of them this year. That doesn’t mean he would get the same production in the absence of Ware. He’s improved, and I’ll leave it at that.
BTW, I’ve called plenty of my misses. Post #1 of this thread to cite a recent example.
