Trade Deadline: The Deals
The Red Sox have parted ways with Manny Ramirez sending him to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-team trade at the deadline that brought Jason Bay to Boston.
Pittsburgh gave up Bay and wound up with four prospects.

Arthur Rhodes has been traded from the Seattle Mariners to the Florida Marlins. and will now be pitching in a pennant race with the Florida Marlins.
Peter Gammons is reporting that the left-handed reliever has been traded for pitching prospect Gaby Hernandez.
Rhodes, in his 17th season, has a 2.86 ERA in 36 games for the Mariners this season. Left-handed hitters are hitting just .200 against him in 2008.

Ken Griffey Jr. has has approved a trade to the White Sox. The Reds get pitcher Nick Masset and second baseman Danny Richar, according to CBS Sportsline.
The White Sox, lead the American League Central by 1.5 games.

i went to the phillies/nationals game yesterday in DC, they got a really nice park, similar to the Bank, and the city is not encouraging cars, but encouraging public transportation which i agree with, so there aren’t any places to park really, the only place we could park at cost $25! and there wasn’t any place to tailgate, so we drank in the car in the $25 parking garage, good game tho, tons of phillies fans, and i mean A LOT, like maybe a 1/3 of the fans, which was fun, phils rule!

this was a good win tonight for the phils, winning a series against a real good team, especially for joe blanton and myers, how they performed, that was really good to see, i hope they keep it up
and the mets are in complete disarray, marlon anderson’s gone which jus thins out an already thinned out outfield, wagner is gettin an MRI which means he’s injured and if he’s not, then that jus means his head is now completely messed up, which screws up an already screwed up bullpen and maine is on the DL, and the offense has decided it can’t hit with runners in scoring position, nice…

Anderson has been useless all season, but you’re right with the Mets. Our bullpen has been complete shit. I don’t know what to expect with this team. One month you’re the 27 Yankees, the next dogshit.
What I do know, and I’ve said this before..You can’t win a championship with a sub par bullpen. Maybe they fix it with call ups, but I’m not betting on it.
