In today’s Inquirer, Cameron Smith mentions that the Phillies may till be interested in Will Ohman, the former Atlanta Braves reliever who held lefthanded hitters to a .200 batting average and .257 on-base percentage last season.
“We’ve had real good positive conversation with the Phillies over the past week, and I know Will would love to pitch in Philadelphia,” Ohman’s agent, Page Odle, told the paper. “He’s faced them a lot being in Atlanta, and has a lot of respect for the team and the organization.”
Seems that Ohman in only interested in pitching for a contender and that the Mets may also be interested in his services.
“We’ve been talking mostly with the Phillies and Mets the last couple weeks,” Odle said. “He just wants to be in that pressure-packed situation. I think that’s why both the Phillies and the Mets are ideal situations for him.
Love to see the Phils sign him. I’ve seen this cat strike out enough Phillies lefthanders to want him on the squad – and off the Mets’.
